Admin: mail provider config (SMTP / Mailgun / Resend / SendGrid)

How to swap email provider for transactional emails (welcome emails, alerts, NPS surveys).

Step 1 — Pick provider

  • **SMTP**: works with any SMTP provider (Gmail, SiteGround, Office 365). Easiest start.
  • **Mailgun**: HTTP API, free tier 5k emails/month.
  • **Resend**: HTTP API, modern, 3k/month free.
  • **SendGrid**: HTTP API, enterprise-grade.

Step 2 — Set up DNS (any provider)

  • Add SPF, DKIM, DMARC records to your sending domain.
  • Aim for mail-tester.com score ≥ 9/10.
  • Without DKIM, emails go to spam.

Step 3 — Configure in /admin/mail

  • Pick provider, paste credentials.
  • From email: notifications@yourbrand.com.au
  • From name: Your Brand

Step 4 — Send test email

  • /admin/mail → Send test email.
  • Should arrive within 30 seconds.
  • If not: check SPF/DKIM via mail-tester.com.

Step 5 — Monitor delivery

  • Mail providers all have delivery dashboards — watch bounce rate.
  • Bounce rate >5% = list hygiene problem (clean your invite list).
  • Spam complaints >0.1% = subject lines / content review needed.
