After-the-fact playback

  • Calls tab → click any call → audio player at the top.
  • Full transcript below the player. Click any line to jump to that timestamp.
  • AI summary at the top — what happened in 2-3 sentences.

Live-listen during a call

  • For active calls: Calls tab → 'In progress' filter → click → 'Live listen' button.
  • Streams the live audio through your browser (read-only, no two-way).
  • Useful for QA on new agents or training your reception team to handover.

Download recordings

  • Click 'Download MP3' in the call detail page.
  • Stored locally on our server (not Vapi cloud) for 90 days by default. Configurable per-tenant.

Privacy / compliance

  • Recordings are restricted to your tenant — no cross-tenant access.
  • Recording disclosure plays automatically on every call (Australian Privacy Act compliant).
  • Tenant data retention policies apply — see /data-processing.
